Based in Corpus Christi, Texas, Roy’s Bait & Tackle has been a family-owned business for over 52 years, providing locals and visitors with everything they need for an outstanding fishing experience. We specialize in inshore, offshore, fly, and surf fishing and stock over 250 kayaks from 18+ brands. Our service team excels in rod and reel repair, custom rods, kayak builds, and installations. We do it all, and we’re growing fast!

We’re Currently Hiring for the Following Positions:

**All positions require the flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed. These are our busiest times.**

1. Retail Sales Associates

As a Retail Sales Associate, you’ll help customers find products, provide top-notch service, and process transactions. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, guiding them through their purchases and offering expert recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers with product information and sales.
• Promote sales, loyalty programs, and current promotions.
• Maintain and organize inventory, ensuring a clean and inviting store.
• Stay informed about fishing products and techniques.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth store operations.
• Provide excellent customer service to maintain our friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
• Assist with register duties when needed.

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of fishing and a genuine interest in the sport.
• Strong communication skills.
• Comfortable using digital tools and systems (training provided).
• Honest, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
• Strong work ethic and dedication to customer service.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work as part of a team.
• Flexibility with work schedule (we’re open every day).
• Must be able to stand and walk throughout the day.

2. Retail Sales Associate – Fly & Kayak Shop

This position involves assisting customers in our dedicated fly fishing and kayak areas. You’ll provide expert advice, sell related equipment, and ensure a seamless shopping experience for anglers of all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer expert service in fly fishing and kayaks.
• Promote sales and loyalty programs.
• Maintain and organize inventory, ensuring everything is on display and easy to find.
• Merchandise the store, keeping it clean and inviting.
• Stay up-to-date on fly fishing products and techniques.
• Assist with POS system updates and product entries.
• Support kayak and fly shop operations.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of fly fishing and kayaks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable using digital tools (training provided).
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong team player and commitment to customer service.
• Flexibility with work schedule.
• Ability to stand and move around for extended periods.

3. Fly Shop Buyer/Sales

As a Fly Shop Buyer/Sales, you will help source and select fly fishing products, working directly with vendors to ensure inventory meets customer needs and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert customer service and support sales associates.
• Maintain and organize fly fishing inventory.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new products.
• Work with management to manage inventory and stock levels.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and purchasing decisions.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
• Help create reports on sales, customer satisfaction, and budgets.
• Collaborate with marketing and merchandising teams to promote products.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of fly fishing and related products.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable with digital tools and inventory management (training provided).
• Self-motivated, independent, and a team player.
• Ability to manage inventory and make strategic buying decisions.
• Strong analytical skills to forecast trends and identify growth opportunities.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers is a plus.

4. Cashier

As a Cashier, you’ll help check out customers, provide top-notch service, and process transactions. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, guiding them through their purchases and offering expert recommendations.

• Process transactions, layaways, and service tickets.
• Assist customers with product information and sales.
• Promote sales, loyalty programs, and current promotions.
• Maintain and organize inventory, ensuring a clean and inviting store.
• Stay informed about fishing products and techniques.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth store operations.
• Provide excellent customer service to maintain our friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
